Title: Owston Ferry, Pumping Engine.......
Post by: Stilldrillin on September 07, 2011, 04:06:23 AM
My other forum had  their annual meet, at the Owston Ferry Pumping Station, last Saturday.

Here's a couple of short videos, of the newly rebuilt Diesel engine......

Also, some cams and tappets.......

Unfortunately, the mic does not quite capture the rhythmic bass note.... Which even made me sway to the "music"!

Hi John.
Seems this engine was installed in 1952.

Have a look here......   http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2309464

Hi David ,

I've had a look at the link , a good picture of the engine and pump

If thats the first time its needed repair in almost 60years
thats amazing

I would not expect a modern engine built to day to last as long

Dave-

That is a beautiful engine and a facinating valve gear arrangement.
Thanks for the pictures and videos.
Super!
