I`m after a tiny vice. I`d like something a little more rigid than the clamp on type I`ve seen.
Cousins do one but it is £50 - 45mm wide jaws, moves on dovetails and the excellent part is that it attaches to a permenant sole plate yet quick releases to remove (sole plate obviously stays solid to the bench).

I think perhaps I`m being a tight arse but it seems quite expensive for a small vice. Anyone have another other suggestions. I`ve done a lot of googling byt nothing is coming up that I fancy. Ideally I`d like to spend about £30...I know I`m scrapping over £20 but fifty does seem a little excessive for such a small vice.

For fine work I use a small Emco vice (http://www.emcomachinetools.co.uk/EnterShop/tabid/268/CategoryID/82/List/1/catpageindex/2/Level/a/ProductID/406/Default.aspx?SortField=UnitCost+DESC%2cProductNumber) meant for the Unimat 3 and use the two mounting holes to fis it to a bit of 5/8" square bar, just pop it into the big vice when I need it. Chronos do an imported copy for not a lot.

Hi Jason, thanks for the suggestion. I`m currently using a small vice held in my large vice when needed but this is the situation I`m trying to get away from currently as I want a small vice mounted on my new work desk/bench and don`t want it to take too much room. The beauty of the one I showed was the way it quick released from the bench.
