Chaps,
Any of you used Ambrose Shardlow(Sheffield) micrometers?
TIA

Hi Bry
Can't say for their micrometers ... but I worked with a man who was there in WW2.
But they did Merlin Engine cranks according to him IIRC ...
No idea they made micrometers. Seems a strange catalogue of products if they did.
No help am I ?? Just the 'Ambrose Shardlow' grabbed me.

I've got a o-1" shardlow mic had since I was 15, my dad bought it for me when I started my apprentiship, its a good bit of kit, had it checked out in our stadards room and it was spot on as good as moore and wright.

Hi,
I've got this depth mic that must be at least 15 or so years old but I've only ever needed the short rod the others are still in what I think is the original wax protective coating.

Nicely made and I've never had to adjust it so I'm not sure how easy that would be, (rods only have a single tight split nut rather than locking nuts or screws), that being said a standard mic would be different anyhow.
Still shows no signs of wear so I think they're good un's.
