Greetings, folks. Been lurking here for a while trying to keep up with all the great information on tools and techniques and projects for the hobby machinist. Should have introduced myself sooner. I live here in western Arkansas, near the Oklahoma border. Didn't get started with hobby machining until well after I retired, to my regret. I have a modest shop with an X2 mill, a 7X12 lathe, a 4X6 bandsaw and assorted essential accessories. I have a lot of interests, so I don't spend all my time in the shop, but I do enjoy some quality time there quite often. I'm an amateur at best, but I've finished one small model gasoline hit-and-miss engine from Hamilton Upshur plans. That's it in my avatar. It runs well, but the more I learn about the hobby the more I'm aware of things I should have done differently. As soon as I finish some other projects (and can find the energy and motivation to get started) I hope to do another, perhaps a little smaller, similar engine.
I'm a retired electronics engineer, spent most of my creative period doing system-level test and evaluation and my later years in systems development. Never did get rich or famous.
