Hello all,
I recently placed an order for a complete CDI ignition with Hall effect sensor with HobbyKing - the price was hard to beat! After I received notification of the order I noticed they state it could take up to 45 days for delivery!!!
Perhaps they're just playing is safe, but I wonder if anyone has any experience with them, especially time for delivery.
Best,
Mike

Yes,I have....
Great to deal with, delivery usually takes around 10-14 days to the UK...but then thats the same for anyone I've dealt with in HK....and the surrounding Far East countries...
45 days? Hmm a little pessimistic methinks........
You could take solace in the fact that the price is good?

Hello John,
I'm hoping it is just a case of a surfeit of caution - I've had other shipments from HK and they usually are less than 3 weeks max., but as you say, the price was good and I probably won't need it much before the month and half anyway. Just wished they had mentioned it prior to my placing the order.
Best,
Mike

Mike,
I moved the thread here. It's not realy about a project under construction.

Hello Bernd,
OK - my mistake as it has to do with an Upshur farm engine I am currently building.

I have ordered a handful of items from Ebay that were shipped from Hong Kong, from reputable sellers who have really high volume of sales.. and all of the items have taken at least 30 days, if not 45-60 sadly.
I often will simply order the same item locally and pay the extra 5 or 10 bucks, just to get it somewhat faster.

Hello Chris,
If I'm not mistaken you're well on the way with a Webster; it was a toss-up for me between the Webster, a Kerzel or the Upshur and I eventually decided to go with the Upshur.
I ordered the complete CDI igniton system from HobbyKing and will let you know when it comes in.

My experience ordering from Hong Kong is that it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. I only order from there if I'm not in a hurry to get my parts. Since there's currently no large shipping(consumerist) holidays on the horizon your shipping rates should be on the quicker side.

Hello Cuog,
Thanks for the input - I've only ordered a few things from HK and generally the shipping time was acceptable, from two to four weeks. As I said earlier, I'm hoping the 45 days is just their exercising an excess of caution.
All the best,
Mike

Right now, it's actually cheaper for me to do that than order in Oz. Got some QCTP holders from Little Machine Shop that were half what I would have paid locally for the exact same Chinese ones, even with the high shipping costs.

I ordered an ignition system from HobbyKing on 14 Mar and it arrived yesterday.

Hello Radford,
The ignition system I ordered arrived approximately two weeks after placing the order, so I have no complaints. The prices are excellent.

Mike
