Title: Up and running, almost
Post by: Bogstandard on September 14, 2010, 05:06:01 PM
Hi all,

A few of you have noticed that I have started to post a little again.

As I have explained over on HMEM, at this time, I can only act in an advisory role.

This last year has really taken it's toll on my family, and it will take a fair while to recover to my previous self.

My wife has made a miraculous recovery considering she was diagnosed not to be with us past last Christmas, and for that I thank the dedicated surgeons and staff at 'The Christie'.

Myself, I suffered a major setback some time ago, where an old spinal injury came back and knocked the legs from under me, but again, the medicos have worked their magic and got me mobile again.

Then a few months ago, I lost my 93 years young mother.

So all in all, a real crappy year.

I don't expect to be posting anything of my own for a few months yet, as I have a large personal backlog to clear. When that is cleared up, I have enough to show for a few years to come.

I have been trying to keep up with the email questions I receive, but at times it can be a few days before I can reply, and even then, it might not be up to standard. So if you can keep the questions simple, it would be most appreciated. So no 'How do I build a scale working model of the Titanic engine' please, and at this time I can take on no machining work for anyone at all, I have too much of my own to catch up on.

Thanks

Bogs

Glad things are looking up for you John. Sorry about your Mom. Take care of yourself first.

Good to see ya back.

I find it particularly amusing that you have "newbie" status.

All the best, mate. Hang in there and get back to health, you and your  Ms. Can't wait until you're back in form.

Jphn,

Glad to see you back. Have had a bad year myself, but not quite bad as yours.

Can't wait to see some of your wisdom on engine building and such appearing here again.

Get better and I hope Bandit can be out there quarding, er, give you advice in the shop.

It's very good to see you're back, and functioning again John!

So pleased Mal has made a recovery.

Sorry to hear about your Mother.

What a year!

We hope you all have an easier and happier time from now on.

David & Christine.

Thank you one and all for the welcome home.

I have been back in the shop recently, not a lot, but enough for me to start to think about making things. In fact, over the last couple of days, and maybe this evening to get it finished off, I might have something of interest to make a bit of a post out of.

I'll see what it turns out like first.

As one of the newer and less experienced members here, I can only say from a selfish perspective I'm happy to see you back. I've read most of your posts and inevitably learn many things from each one. Looking forward to learning much more from your posts in the future -thanks!

Sorry for your bad year and wishing for a much better one for you.

Best,
Mike
