Title: Greetings from central Florida
Post by: grinder on June 16, 2010, 12:34:09 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm just now getting started with some of my metalworking interests. I have a HF mini lathe and milling machine and I'm currently in the middle of making a screwless vice. I came across this forum just a couple of days ago, and I'm impressed with some of the things I saw here. I have a lot of other techy things that interest me too, so I'm sure over time we will be trading ideas.

Hi Grinder and welcome to the MadModder forum. We have members from many corners of the universe that have skills that go from A to Z. If you have any questions, just ask. There is always someone around to answer them or at least give an opinion. When you have an opportunity perhaps you could post some pictures of your shop and some of the projects that you are up to as  :worthless:

Cheers

Hiya Grinder

Welcome to the collective :borg:

So, what type of techy things? Do tell!

Central Florida eh? I lived in North Florida for about ten years. My work took me to central Florida quite a bit.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for the greetings!

For most of my working life I have been involved in electronics from radio & TV upto industrial switchgear. I came from the UK to the US about 30 years ago, and fell in love with the place. I was working for a laser company in England at the time, and a US laser manufacturer bought the company and transferred me. Lasers are fascinating. I'm just getting into machining though. I've had my lathe and mill for about 6 months now, and spend almost all weekend making chips.
