Here's a link to what could be a simple solution to clean up the oil in the Gulf.

Some good old bou ingenuity. What do think?

Could work. To dispose of the oil soaked hay it could be ran through a drier and burned in a power plant to produce electricity

Sounds like a good solution to me. After soaking up the oil and removing the hay it could be put through some pressure rollers to squeeze out the oil and water. This could be captured and would separate naturally as water would go to the bottom and oil would float on top. Then the hay could be used for fertilizer if clean enough or burnt for energy.
Thanks for posting this Bernd. :D
Cheers

If you listen carefuly that's what they stated they could do with the oil soaked hay. They could use it as a fuel.
What gets me is they always try to use complicated ways of doing things when sometime the simplest could work. What have they got to loose if it dosen't work? I think it would have some of those bigger companies pissed off like Mansanto or any other chemical company if such a simple solution would work.

Spread egg whites on the surface! The egg whites will spread out making a very fine film which will eventually sink to the bottom taking all the crud with it.
Brewers have been doing this for centuries.
