Bought both my machines from Chester.
No problems or hassle. Also, they have a website, to discuss any problems in public......

Chronos have a small range of milling machines, too (very small, unless you have a big wallet):

Not personally, but on the Yahoo 7x12 minilathe group (which I have to keep an eye on, because I'm one of its moderators) several UK members have bought from Hugh at Amadeal. Their reports seem very positive, particularly on after-sales service. I haven't seen any negative reports.
I wish I'd known about Amadeal back when I bought my lathe; the same machine would have cost somewhat less than I paid elsewhere.

I have noticed on Amadeal and Engineers Toolroom that their lathes do not include steadies, 4-jaw etc in the basic price so something to be aware of when costing it out, may be less accesories with the mill as well.

Thanks,
Just got off the phone with Hugh at Amadeal, seems like a realy nice and friendly guy, done as much research on them and there XJ25 Mill and it maybe the one for me, well hopfully,

I'm within borderline-worth-it driving distance of Hugh's cave of wonders.
Be careful if you visit - your credit card will take a bashing. Mine did.
It's a bit "functional" (It IS a warehouse, after all), but so many wonderful toys! :D
Well worth visiting, though. Makes a big difference to have the thing in front of you and compare if there are options.

Hi rdstars
I'd also endorse those favourable comments on Amadeal. I bought my first mini-lathe from Hugh four years ago. Saved a bundle on initial outlay and discovered Hugh's friendly approach extended to after sales service. Anyone on a tight budget won't go far wrong choosing from this excellent supplier. Having said that my current lathe and mill were bought from Chesters and have been completely satisfied.

I finally decided I needed, rather than wanted, a lathe and did alot of googling and found Amadeal.
I gave him a call and asked about the machinery he had an also the extra tools etc, he sounded like a nice chap so I arranged to go down to the warehouse on the Saturday morning.
I got there slightly earlier than the agreed time and sat in my car, he arrived bang on the time he said he would and we entered the shop.
What a great shop it is, he's really making use of the space! - I much prefer places like this to big flashy premises, all that flash has to be funded somehow.
Anyway, he opened a box and showed me a lathe and said have a look round while I get the bits on my fairly hefty list. I had misread the ad for the lathe and didn't realise the extra tool post and chuck were included - money saved already
I had a quick look at some of the mills and a general snout around the place, gave the card a bit of a workout and then loaded up the car with new found goodies.
All round a great guy, very helpful and some good prices to boot - I can't recomment Hugh enough.

I'll second that derv, he's a nice bloke, and very obliging. Got my little lathe from him and was very pleased with the service.
