Title: Steam Monorail - amazing!!
Post by: jugs on April 27, 2010, 06:59:20 AM
On Sunday we visited the only steam monorail in the world (& I got to drive it !).  :ddb:

It's in Snowdonia North Wales, & was one of the few places where it was cold, and with heavy rain showers that day!

A totally unique experience, fantastic.

My friend Dave Mills took some pictures and video of it. Here is a link to his site., lots of other interesting stuff on it as well.

Hi John,

Sorry I missed the day to catch up with you all. I got the invitation just a tad too late.
Shame, as it's within walking distance for me .... almost .. hope you had a nice day and the rain didn't spoil it ...  :)

Nice. Thanks for sharing.

That looks a little scary as the locomotive tilts back and forth. That must put a lot of strain on the wheels keeping the loco on the track.
