My local scrap man just knocked on my door and dropped a very nice SHODA 2MT live center in my hand :ddb:
It looks a very nice bit of kit and stripable and adjustable by the look of it.
Doing a Google it seems that Shoda is made in the Czech Republic
It sure pays to tell everyone what you are about :)
The sad news is there was a whole machine shop sent off for scrap, all scrap too inc machines. He got wind it it too late and only came away with this live center and a truck full of scrap metal :(

That's the story of my life too! ATB Kevin

Don't stutter it's SKODA as in the cars but unlike all the early Skoda jokes their machine tool industry is / was top notch.
You won't buy a better live centre.

Skoda was one of the main reasons the Germans invaded in WWII. Hey, if the Germans think your machine tool industry is worth invading over, it's gotta be good.

Thanks John, now everyone knows I have a Skoda
Just found this with an exploded diagram, they seem to have gone to some trouble to make this well, who'd have thought there would be so much inside a live center. Long shaft, three adjustable bearings and an oil hole.
