Title: Swarf! Its raining Swarf!
Post by: ieezitin on February 24, 2010, 09:47:12 AM
Hi guys.

In the past I have tried many things to stop swarf from landing on the bed and getting into those pesky little places where it reaps havoc.

I have built wood tops that lay all around, I have made rubber mats held with magnets and move with the machine, clear plastic covers especially made and profiled, all worked some what but all had serious flaws which in turn made more work for me.

In some past posts I have noticed some of you have this concertina like cover that expands and contracts with the machine. Where do you buy such a product? And tell me if you use this system how well does it work?

If you know of a better solution of stopping swarf and other foreign materials getting into your crevices  feel free to offer us your advice.

All the best.      Bogged down by swarf!   Anthony.

Hi Anthony,

Would this be any good? It's on your side of the pond:

When I get into cnc'ing my X3 I'll give it a go.
