Hello all
I have joined up after stumbling over some good threads, i have been trying to build a 5" live steam engine for a few years now.... I have already picked up some neat ideas for my workshop, its always good to tinker! I am currently rebuilding my Lathe cross slide some thing i had been putting off. The lathe is an old Zyto 3" of 1950s vintage, still going strong.

Welcome Gingerneer
Great bunch of folk here.
Please tell me are you from Dorset Dorset or Hants Dorset.
I am one of these folk that do not know which side of the fence I am on.
Christchurch/New Milton
Sorry to the folk that think this is in code, it is not, it is about a crazy government that changed borders and left many folk not sure what we are. :bang:
I got so confused I moved to Devon.
:(

Hi Trevor
I am in Dorset Dorset. I live in Iford although my workshop is over Wimborne way. I though that everything Boutrnemouth side of the river was Dorset and the "other" side of the river was Hants?

Hello Gingerneer
When I was boy Poole was in Dorset and Bournemouth was well in Hants.
The County Border followed the New Forrest Border set down by king Harold.
It was changed in 1972 by a very sick government. :bang:
The Hampshire Avon as then was became the Dorset Avon.
The connection with Madmodders is that my ancestors many from Christchurch were Smiths Black,Sheet, Copper, and Tin, also Fusee chain makers.
And were known as the Forest smiths.
Any way this is somewhat off topic . :offtopic:
Thanks for your reply
Trevor :D
