Post by: Gerhard Olivier on September 24, 2009, 12:23:04 PM
Does anybody know where I can get + code for a big carbide cutting tip.  Would prefer a triangle about 3/4".

whats it for?

if you've got the tool its for, you can work out the code for the tip from the code on the tool

if you know the size you need, ie, length, widith, tip rad, hole in middle or not, someone is sure to have the answer

Hi sorry should have said

I want to make a ball turner for woodwork lathe and will make the holder so detail not important.  Just needs to be big enough to have a cutting edge of at least 1/2 inch. Triangle / diamond shape would be good.  Possibly only need one as wood is not going to blunt it anytime soon.

Bogs Thanks a bunch the tips you sent got here.  They are spot on.

Just need a few more bits that the scrap bin can't help with and then to get started.

Glad I could help with your project Gerhard.

I have a few more of the big dumpy ones if you go that way.
