It is the 18" and looks like the 1898 catalogue example...

Would that be more accurate than the common 'builders' levels'?

[I might just get it for the looks anyway!  :coffee:]

That looks like it IS a builders level.

Yes, it sure does look like a builders level but the Stanley 36G is described as a machinists or engineers level in several places on the 'net but I cannot find in specs.

Considering they made it for so many years and I have never seen one they must have been somewhat different to the wooden and brass builders levels of which we saw so many. :scratch:
