Title: Security Warning
Post by: naffsharpe (Nathan) on March 08, 2021, 06:54:30 AM
Hi all. When I go to log on I'm getting a warning telling me that the connection to the site is not secure. I'm also informed that auto fill has been turned off. When I do log on I have another warning page load asking me if I'm sure I want to send username/password.
Is this just me? I'm using Win 10/64 bit/ Edge browser.

Nathan.

No, it's everyone. it's because the site doesn't use https.

We do have a cert. Not sure why it isn't redirecting.. Looking into it.

Hi, Brass_Machine I checked the cert and all looked fine. Strangely as I logged on this time there were no warnings showing and autofill was also working! Perhaps I'd better change password?

Firefox opens the previous session for me, never had a warning of any kind!

If you access the site as http:// instead of https:// some browsers may give the security warning if Eric hasn't set it up to automatically convert your browser access to https://. Sounds like he's working on it.

Well, hopefully what I did works!

Same - the cert has expired & needs renewing, that should be enough to get it going again...

One for Eric...

Something has altered slightly. One click and the site opened, but with just a small red warning "Not secure".

Hmm, Eric's not been online for over a month...

I've sent him an e-mail... hopefully he's OK.

Just means Eric needs to renew the site's security certificate since it has apparently expired. It does not mean the site has been compromised, despite the browser Chicken Little warning.

Fixed.

Sorry about that.
