My everyday 0-1" micrometer is a Mitutoyo 159-101 Combimike, which I really like the feel of. Also, working with about 60% metric and 40% imperial, being able to directly read both is a great feature.
However, it doesn't have a vernier scale. So anything less than 0.001 is an interpolated guess. This is for work, and I do actually need to measure to 10ths for some things.
I see few people using digital micrometers on a daily basis, but I'm not sure why. My main reason for liking digital measuring tools isn't that they're more accurate; rather the ability to directly read metric or imperial. The fewer times I have to multiply or divide by 25.4, the less likely I am to make a mistake.
I ran across this tonight and was wondering if anyone has tried it, or can offer an opinion. Sure looks slick, but I'm skeptical.

What about other digital micrometer offerings? Anything else to be recommended that's built well and has good ergonomics? I've seen a lot that look big and "clunky".

Looks alot like a thickness gauge. Wonder what aspect of it they had patented.
