My uncle used to play 'Strangers on the Shore' endlessly - I'm sure the groove in the record must have been worn smooth in the end

Great man Acker, a real gent. My two claims to brushing with fame are standing next to Acker in the urinal at Birmingham Town Hall and having my sandwiches stolen by one of The Queen's labradors. It seems like a history lesson to confess to being of the "Trad" generation.

Nice obit in "The Telegraph". >>> http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/11204386/Acker-Bilk-obituary.html
