Title: Not my week...
Post by: AdeV on March 18, 2013, 06:17:22 PM
First, I blow the mill up (see CNC crashes therad)...

...now I'm trying to get to London, only to see my first train cancelled; grab the next one to crewe, the connecting train for that service is cancelled.... running over 2 hours late now, can't get to my original station, only "nearby"...

Ho hum.

At least I can kick back with a beer & some internet now i'm finally ON a train...

Ade

I sure hope the rest of the week isn't like this. It's only Monday so this could be a long week. Enjoy the ride, Spring is in the air, by the time you get back from London hopefully things will have worked themselves out.  :D :D

Cheers

Pete49, you may be able to recover the data with a compact linux run directly from a boot disk.

I use Puppy linux since it easily starts off of a CD, and then can run completely in memory, freeing up the disk drive to examine your failed backup disks.

I have recovered several failed Windows systems with it. It's available free as a download online (if you can get to another computer to make up a boot CD). When you see the Puppy Linux boot screen type pfix=ram and that will load it into memory and free up the drive so you can remove the disk. Then you can mount your backup disks and look at the info on them.
