I have just been trawling ebay and came across this super find.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Marine-Boat-Ship-Rare-Model-Steam-Engine-Toy_W0QQitemZ150348956566QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item23017f0396&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1688%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
If there are any US citizens that you know who would be liable to bid for this, could you please point them in my direction.
I am sure I could empty my junk and scrap box and come up with something a little better.
'Fools and their money are easily parted' is a phrase that comes to mind.

wow...... thats pretty rough.
I mean if it was somoenes first engine attempt.. no issues. Learning curve. BUt to try to claim its in bery good condition.... ehh.. not so sure.
love the welds/solder/brazing?

Nyloc nuts? Sheesh, even I'm not that cheesy.
-
Somebody must have got a smile and a bit of enjoyment out of it when it was first made, but really it can't even be used for making anything else because all the soft solder on it stops the metal being silver soldered, and take the solder away and there is nothing left.
I think even Cedge couldn't restore this one to make it a good looker.

But you're forgetting,
It's the thought that counts, or the effort in this case...
But you're right, it's rough as a dogs ****

I really liked the phrase "reminds me of a Stuart". Must be one those 'rare' Stuarts that don't appear in the catalogues....
