noticed my lathe (sieg C4) making funny noises winding the cross slide across.
worried that there was a problem i stripped the whole thing down, its a bit more involved because of the power feed on the cross slide.

i stopped messing around with the camera at this point, oil and swarf were getting every where!!
took it all to bits, trying to find the problem!
i couldn't find anything wrong! ( in fact it all looked very good, given the amount of work it does)
it was when i put it all back together i found a few bits of stray swarf in the handwheel beaings for the cross slide
atleast it all got a good clean

Glad you got it fixed. Wow, that C4 apron is huge compared to the C3.

Never mind Jim..... It will run all the sweeter now.....
That sounds just like one of my very many projects/ wild goose chases, over the years! ::)
If only we could have all that wasted time over again...... In one large lump. Just imagine what we could do with it......
