Title: Metric Slotting Saws
Post by: Jere on November 12, 2009, 08:47:20 AM
Hello all,

I was curious, since there are a number of members here in the UK, if anyone knows of a distributor (preferable an online one) for Cardinal slitting/slotting saws.  The brand is not critical, but my arbor is for 16mm bore saws, and I have one blade (made by Cardinal, England).  Here in the U.S. all the saws have inch-type bores, and really I should just make another arbor, but I thought I would check the options first.

The primary purpose for the saw(s) are for the table saw attachment to my lathe, and Cowells offers three sizes, but I imagine Cardinal (or others) make a wide variety of thicknesses.

Thanks,
Jere

Jere, Arceurotrade here in the UK (they will export) have some with 16mm bore:
 http://www.arceurotrade.co.uk/Catalogue/Cutting-Tools/Slitting-Saws-and-Arbors/Slitting-Saws
in the second table down on the page. Probably Chinese, and all have 48 teeth, so may be too coarse for your needs.
