Title: Stepper Motors
Post by: Sky King on May 13, 2008, 12:07:59 PM
I have dozens of large and small stepper motors salvaged from various machines over the years. Problem is the driver chips are usually SM or cannot be removed from the board. I have not been able to find a cheap source for stepper motor drivers other than the PIC kits and they usually run about $60+. Any body had any luck with drivers??? or know where to look??
Thanks,
Julian

Don't know if any of the links I have posted will help out. As I haven't tried them yet on any of the ones I have. I posted them in the resources link page so they will be handy, They should be on the top end of the page.

I believe the this SITE (http://www.fromorbit.com/projects/picstep/index.php) is a DIY site for drivers. I haven't gone through it, but it looks like it provides you with the info you need.

Also, this SITE (http://pminmo.com/) has a good list of DIY stepper driver sites.

Hope it helps... I haven't used any of them... yet.

Glen... I didn't check to see if I posted the same links as you, if I did sorry about that.
