Out & about today, dodging a traffic jam on the M6, I happened to wander through Skelmersdale, and was surprised to drive past a school/college called:
"Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Engineering College"
... and I got to wondering...
What exactly is "Catholic engineering"?
This is not meant as a dig at our Catholic members, so please don't take it as such. It was just a question that amused me until some idiot cut me up at Switch Island & I got back to my usual driving mode of boggling at the sheer incompetence of most drivers...
So, what IS Catholic Engineering, and how does it differ from, say, Bhuddist Engineering?

I'm surprised you have to ask. I thought it would have been obvious... but apparently not.
It has to do with the god you pray to that your bridge design will stay up.
;)

And I'm wondering why you think wandering through Skem is better than a traffic jam on the M6 ???

How very dare you. Skelmersdale looked absolutely lovely in this morning's tranqiul drizzle/mist. Well, the big road around it looked far more inviting than the town itself, mind. And what's with those giant roundabouts? Did someone book a little too much tarmac?
Oh, and my sister named her cat Pimbo. So that place must also be nice. Er, probably.

I presume you aren`t looking for the correct answer of the fact it is Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic College which has been awarded a specialist status in Engineering.

So it probably won't have any Darwinian designs then. :D

Ade, the Our Lady of Perpetual Motion convent in Orrell may be a clue, not to be confused with Our Lady of Perpetual Sorrow in Bickerstaffe.

Guys
Since religion is a very touchy subject, I commend you for keeping restraint! I appreciate it!

When we send people to Skem from work, they don't always return :( They don't seem to be able to find their way out again. :)
