Title: Hi from Greece (still sunny, well, mostly)
Post by: GeorgeGreek on January 07, 2010, 04:55:21 PM
I am a self tought model maker since about 1955 (am I still alive???)
Though I have made practically all sorts of models, I ended up in what I like most : model firearms.
I honestly don't know if and where I fit in but I like to read a lot...
I am married for 39 years to the same wife (where is the medal?) and I love cats.

Yours,

George.

I know I speak for at least myself when I say  :worthless:  :D

Looking forward to seeing what you've made and are making.

Welcome to the collective George.  :borg:

You'll fit in. Interesting hobby. We had a memeber at one time that was into firearms. To bad he's no longer here on the forum.

By the way my cat wants to say "Hi" to your cat.

Hi George

Welcome to MadModder George.  :ddb: :ddb: :ddb:
Wow, 39 years with SWMBO. You must be listening well!

As you will see there is a wide assortment of projects and interests in this forum. Perhaps you will show us some of yours when you have a chance. Every body says that :worthless:. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. There is always someone here to answer or at least give you an opinion. Enjoy yourself and watch out for  :proj:.

I'll have to see if I can't find a picture of a couple of my friends and post them up here. :D :D

Cheers

Welcome George, you will fit in nicely.  This group of nuts like it if it is made from anything that requires a degree of skill, craftsmanship, imagination and detemination to start and sometime complete.  For what its worth I too like firearms and have built a single falling blocke rifle chambered in .22Hornet.  It shoots a lot better than I can.  Again, welcome to the ward err collective.

PS , George, the quarter pictured with the revolver has collector value also, to coin collectors. The US ceased minting silver coins in 1964, any coin, excluding nickles & pennys, minted in 1964 or earlier is about 90% pure silver. The silver content, at current price, is about 8 times the face value. To a coin collector the coin should of more value as the quarter appears to be in good to very good condition. Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your welcome and advise regarding the value of the silver dollar.

From rainy (at last) Greece,

George.

P.S. I say at last, because a bottle of water if ordered in a cheap tavern costs more than the equivalent volume of gasoline...

Hi Cliff,

thanks for the tip regarding the coin. I have not mentioned that the pictured revolver fires 2mm pinfire caps.

Thanks again and regret delay in answer.

Hey George:
That's a fine looking pistol you've made.
Wish I had that fine of talent!

Congrats on the long marriage too. That's a good start.

George
