Hello, My name is Jack, I live in central NY state (Syracuse area), I've been an industrial boiler service tech for 30+ years. At one time I was traveling all over the world for a boiler manufacturer, and gave that up to do it the northeast part of the country. I run a small machine shop out of my garage, making parts for obsolete boilers and other projects. I saw a link to this site, and liked what I read, so I decided to join. I'm always interested in new projects and new ideas, I'm looking forward to being a member.

For me it is now a daily diet.

Welcome Jack, I nearly said Hi, but I don't think that would be too funny, but we can try it.
Hi Jack,
As you can gather, we are rather weird on here, almost anything that takes your fancy is welcome, as long as it is legal and not too risque.
A sense of humour is mandatory, everything else is come day, go day. Just enjoy yourself.

Most of the stuff I do, is pretty mundane, replacement air damper plates, new bearing supports or burner housing weld repairs. In the past I took a 1950 era Bridgeport mill machine and installed a 1986 Central Machinery mill/drill head on it, aka the Franken-Mill, a drill press adapter plate that allows me to lock the drill press vise just about anywhere on the drill press and a "transmission" that took the original 5 speeds on my Jet mill machine to 25 speeds. Other than that pretty mundane.

Welcome to MadModder Jack. It's great to have you aboard and I am sure that there will be questions come up about boilers that you might want to offer an opinion on. As you look around you will notice that it is not just engines but many kind of projects that the members indulge in. We look forward to your participation Jack. :ddb: :ddb:
Cheers
