Title: Chester DB8 lathe

Hopefully someone out there has one.....not the later DB8VS which is a variable speed machine....The original DB8 is a single phase induction motor driven lathe with 6 speeds achieved by moving the secondary belt...

I'm trying to find out the toothed belt number for a Chester DB8 lathe, its the toothed belt that drives the motor-auxiliary pulley, not the main drive Vee belt...

Unfortunately Chester cannot help at the moment...

John, this is probably not of much help, applies to the DB10, and maybe you've seen it already but there are a few clues here:

Not seen that Steve, but helpful....err in reminding that the belt maybe obsolete :Doh:

Wish I could have found more -- I did searches for type "F" belts, but only got typical tooth belt catalogs for the usual versions -- XL etc.

He did mention re-gearing his lathe to accept conventional belts.

I wonder if, though obsolete here, whether the F type belts (.1875 pitch) may still be manufactured in China for their domestic use in older style machines? Maybe an online marketplace like Alibaba might turn up something...

Well the guy who was asking about this belt has gone quiet....

So, I'm not pursuing this any further, but thanks to all contributors..👍
