Title: Another one from Australia
Post by: bp on April 10, 2010, 11:09:52 PM
Hi there.  I've been pratting about with my Sieg Mini Lathe and Mini Mill for a year or so, making bits for my model aeroplanes, and building up to making some small engines.
I look forward to learning more!!

Hi their bp

It's right nice of you to stop in here and say hi. Sounds like you are keeping quite busy with the Airplanes and the small engines. Are the airplanes for Radio Control? What about the engines? RC or are they the model industrial variety? Not that it really matters as there is almost no limit on what projects show up on MadModder. When you have a chance perhaps you could shoot a few photos of some of your projects. We have a saying here at MadModder,  :worthless:.

Enjoy your stay and don't be scared to ask questions as there is always someone around to answer or at least give an opinion.  :D :D

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome!!
I've got a C3 lathe...7"x 14" about five years old and an X2 mill, which is about 18 months old.
No wireless here, I flew free flight for about 30 years, mainly F1B (Wakefield) but also some F1A, Open Rubber, a little bit of Open Power and Chuckie (HLG).  For the last 3 or 4 years I've been trying to remember what I have forgotten about control line since the '60's.  Started off flying Vintage Combat, but now realise that I'm too old and too slow, so am now looking at alternatives, like stunt.
The engines that I'm interested in are mainly small capacity diesels, in fact there are three (!!!...should get one that works!) ML Midges on the way, they are 0.8cc side port diesels, similar layout to Mills 0.75 of fond memory to some people.  The next project is a Sugden Special from the Aeromodeller in the mid '50's.
The photos may be a problem, but I'll post what I can.  I was inspired to join this group by bogstandards thread about Darrens lathe.
cheers
