Title: Video camera mounting
Post by: doubleboost on September 15, 2013, 02:57:45 PM
Hi
Lads
I do like to play with my video camera and machines
Using a tripod gets in the way & I can not get the shots I want
I am going to fix this stainless pipe to the garage roof & hang the camera from it
Made a start on the mount today

Looking forward to seeing the result in a video.

By the way I cut the flare off that burner and while it won't light in the open air any more, it works brilliantly inside the furnace. Just gotta make some patterns to cast now.

Yeah, well we all know what you're going to say every time you crack your nut on it :D

John, I like it. Clever bit of work.

If you do collide with it, at least it won't fall over and smash the camera. There's a plus. Tripping over tripods isn't unknown in small workshops!  :palm:

And for the silver lining, if you do get conked on the brainpan, we'll have a closeup of the action!

That first photo had me confused for a bit. Looks like the camera is floating until you spot the bracket.

There is something primal about Brits and their tendency hang stuff overhead. Every old lathe book starts with half a book filled information about flat belt over head drive and importance about choosing the house right - to get optimum joist distance for long sheave.....

Good to see tradition well and alive

Seriously: Idea and execution is absolutely top notch.
