What is it about the phrase "Barn find" and eBay? It used to be confined, mostly, to old agricultural equipment, rusty tractors and rotted stationary engines; but more & more I'm seeing it applied to cars, and now even lathes & milling machines!
Can a lathe really ever be a "barn find"?
What really gets me is, the seller must assume that the phrase "barn find" increases the value of an object.... and yet for pretty much anything except a real antique piece of machinery that has been preserved in good condition, I'd say the exact opposite was true?
Ah well, moan over, how's your day going?

Dunno about barn finds.......
But, I've been turning a lot of material, off the o/d's of a pair of 5"+, flywheel castings........
And...... Me mini lathe didn't blow up! :ddb: :ddb: :D
Had a great day, thanks!

I think they put barn find so you don't expect anything more than a pile of solid antique rust.

No. I don't believe a lathe can be a barn find. Classic cars and bikes... yes. Machine equipment? nope.
My day?? Stressful.
