Title: Did the Earth move for you, my dear ?
Post by: DavidA on May 22, 2015, 06:32:36 AM
Anyone notice last night's (Kent UK) earthquake ?

www.earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/helicorder/heli_dir_shz/ELSH_SHZ_GB.

Sorry,  link wont work.

Try     www.earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk

Open 'Monitoring' tab and click on the blue link within the top paragraph.
Then use the drop-down to select ELSH,

But if you want to see the seismogram of this event go to British Geological Survey site and select the ELSH recorder.

It showed on my nearest seismograph (LadyBower) but too small to feel.

Understandably amusing for those of you in the UK.

Not so amusing for myself and the many expatriates here working in Nepal. The only bigger disaster, as a Geordie, would be for NUFC to be relegated today.

Shame I didn't feel it - it would have been my second. The first was 31 years ago in N.Wales.

Allan.

And you accuse others of being facetious !

Pete,

Felt the one centered around Hebden Bridge in the (I think) late 70;s,  and the one more recently close to Bridlington.
