Title: Hobbymat MD65
Post by: Fergus OMore on September 24, 2015, 02:28:12 PM

I'm in the process of buying one but has anyone got the drawings of the slow speed attachment. No, I want to make one, please.

Again, if anyone has any info on how to turn it into CNC, I'd appreciate it.

Summat to do - in my widower-hood.

There's a good picture of it here http://www.lathes.co.uk/hobbymat/page5.html

And by all accounts if you join http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/prazi-machining/info & http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Prazi_mill_lathe/info there is a set of drawings and other information that should really help in making your own

Just for ref. The standard drive belts are:8 * 425, 8 * 375 and the one for the slow speed attachment is a 5 * 406

Coming to this topic fairly late, as I have just bought a MD65 lathe, I have seen on y-tube that fitting a hand cranking handle to the head stock shaft is quite popular, not the fastest of ways to cut a thread but if they are only short lengths it may be worth considering.
