Hi Guys
Just returned from holiday, and had to go shopping with Madam. Called into Aldi and spotted a pair of Sabatier Knives at a price we couldn't refuse £12.95 so they went in the trolley with all the other purchases. There was no where to keep the knives when we arrived home, and they were very sharp. Then came the "could you make me some thing to hold them dear?", so it was off to the garage to sort out some timber. To be quite honest I fancied a bit of woodwork, because it grows quickly, having said that it took me two days of sawing, planing, gluing, sanding and laquering. Well it didn't turn out to badly and the knives are great.
She likes it so it's ok

Hi Guys thanks for your replies. Phil I am permanently in negative equity regarding brownie points, due to spending too much time in the workshop, and computing, so it is quite a surprise when I gain a few.

If you store the knifes with sharp edge upwards in the slot the edge will stay sharper longer :)

Thanks for the tip Bill, obvious when you think about it.

Nice knives, might have to pop into our Aldi and see if any there! Out of interest what wood was used?

Hi Tom,
The block was made from two different timbers, pine for the center, and mahogany for the sides. The shape of the knives was drawn out on the central block, then milled out using an end mill.
