Title: Cheap lathe depth gauge
Post by: tumutbound on August 02, 2011, 05:42:31 AM
This was just posted on a local woodworking/metalworking forum and it's such a neat Idea, I thought I pass it on.
digital lathe depth gauge (http://users.tpg.com.au/agnet/microdro2.html).

Lots of suitable tyre tread indicators on eBay.

Pity my lathe and mill are still in storage   :(

Neat idea. Thanks for passing that on.

Only one problem I can see using it on metal lathe is the small swarf getting stuck to the magents.

Unless of course those are "wood magnets".
