I have to say i think you are insulting the intelligence of everybody here. For christ sakes man you would not keep a car in garage so why would you put bikes in it. we all know it is meant for tools only, whats wrong with you? You will be telling us mills and lathes should carry road tax and kept on the kerbside next?

Some swarf on seats and welding spatter on tires may get your point over. :( also the odd bit of tubing missing may perswade them it's not the safest place to leave it, or leave some sketches of John hills bike around with what parts from there bikes you would use :jaw: :D :D http://madmodder.net/index.php?topic=4815.msg57159#msg57159
what I want to know is why are all the DIY tools mine, so have to go in MY room. I gave up driving so now the garage has to be tidy so she can get the car in , all the years I was the driver I have 2mm at each side and just enough to close the door....

John, I bought a shed this time last year for that reason! Still got 1 bike in the garage - it's a double though so not taking up too much room.
lol@ Peter!

Thought it was just me that had that problem John, Ive one in front of the lathe and another in front of the lathe tool cupboard. If i could get rid of them and the gardening stuff and the second freezer with next to nowt in it. Then my kingdom would be all mine Lol

My car has never entered my garage in the 26 years I have owned the house - nor does my bicycle. I do allow my wife to enter, but not to touch my tools.

Ok, the other side of the coin.
I have a slightly larger than two car garage that houses my machine shop - full-size lathe, mill-drill, drill press, horizontal bandsaw, 8 ft work bench, over (car) hood/bonnet electronic bench, and four rolling tool/etc. cabinets AS WELL AS TWO FULL SIZE (American) SEDANS ON A DAILY BASIS.
What's wrong with you guys? Don't you know how to organize?

I am thinking that the rack over the rear tire would make a nice mounting platform for a small steam engine and boiler arrangement. Drive chain modification shouldn't be too difficult, pedal or steam. Oh don't forget the heat shielding for your backside. :proj:

- not needed if you do it this way! (http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~pattle/nacc/arc0373.htm)

Hang those silly things from the rafters, (or arrange to have them pinched).
-
Even better leave em outside where they belong.
If you had more tooling you wouldnt be able to put them in any way.
After 10 months i have space after scrapping a Harrison 140 lathe, now i can fetch the stuff left round the side of the house under tarpaulin, ones a cnc lathe if its good enough for that certainly good enough for a push bike - sling it.
