Title: Scrolling the message field
Post by: modeldozer on May 15, 2011, 05:23:21 PM
Hi all modders,

A silly  question; when compiling a post how does one keep the current line (where I am typing) in the message window?  Have just done a fairly long post and after each letter the window jumps back to the start. Have looked through the help and even looked on the simple machines site but can not find the answer.

As far as I can remember, it was the same fault I had with IE8 and was the reason I went over to Firefox.

Yep, IE8 did the same thing to me. I switched to Chrome and never looked back. Chrome is 3x faster to boot!

I seem to remember it's fixed by smacking the 'compatibility view' icon on the top of the screen.

I'm on IE9, don't have any problems now, IIRC it fixed the antics when I was on  IE8 .

Try it. Either works or not...

I had the same problem, but once I clicked on Compatibility View (looks like a piece of paper with a tear across it) that seemed to fix it for all future visits to Madmodder. I don't know much about internet browsers, but maybe opting to be permanently logged on has preserved that setting.

Thanks for the responses guys. Have just tested compatability mode and seems to work.
