Most of you will be using the cheaper alkaline batteries in your digiverns and other bits ' bobs.
Have you noticed that they soon run down when the temp drops, and there is still loads of power left in them when they stop working, plus their shelf life is very short.
You should really be using silver oxides, they address all the above problems, and also have a shelf life of about 5 years.
Up until now, they have been rather expensive, usually about a couple of squid each.
These have now come to the rescue for the people in the UK.

I can now throw away all my dozens of old new alkaline ones, as for sure, after being in storage over winter, they won't last too long once fitted.

Glad to have been of help.
I went thru all my non working digiverns and other scale related precision tools this morning, and with 'new' alkalines fitted (LR44's, sell by date of 06/11), not one worked. Gave them a dose of silver oxides (SR44), and every one is now up and running.
I have actually bought 50 off, while they are available. Because they have a very long shelf life, I am not too worried about them not being used straight away.
I also found these a few weeks ago. Very good quality long life Lithiums. They fit not only my Wixie digital angle gauge, but a couple of my digiverns as well. Free postage again. The price quoted is for 10 off. Normally these are a couple of squid each.

Well worth having a few packs in stock at this price if you use them anywhere. All mine have 5 year storage dates.

I am surprised you have any time left for machining with the time taken to sniff out all these bargains. :)
Thanks for the info
