Title: New guy here
Post by: dave_424 on August 21, 2010, 12:33:26 PM
Well, Im 17 years old, from the UK and Ive always been interested in machining etc. I now have an old but good Colchester Chipmaster lathe and am looking out for a well priced mill.

I mainly make custom airgun parts such as

Some custom valves.

And also a continuing project in modifying my own airguns

Turning this...

Into this briefly..

Then removed the top rail and added a stonger one and changed it to side cocking

And will tun out something like this once I've finished (Grip and fore end need to be installed

Well, thats me  :dremel:

Thanks, Ive been doing it since about 16 but since I got this much larger lathe, I'm now doing some more extreme mods.

I also have this

Kawasaki ZX9 engine, now I need to find / make a frame for it to go in

This would be my dream outcome

Welcome
Nice work and the EDGE Barracuda is a beast
I still have plans for the EDGE sidewinder plus and the 6X6 but never built one.
I never had the money to build one and space to use it  :(

Precicely why I haven't bought the plans, I don't have bucket loads of money and want to do it in the shortest time possible :)

Plus, loads of stuff has to be water jet cut and I just don't have the contacts/money, I have a tip off that a mate of mine has an autograss frame but I need to sell one of my custom guns to fund it.

Hello, Good to see someone of a young age interested in engineering and actually getting their hands in and doing this. Nice work, although air guns ain`t really my thing. You`ll be making some steam engines in no time   :D :) :D !!

Hi Dave

Welcome to the collective :borg:

Nice work there! Very familiar with the ZX9R engine... One of our members has built a sidewinder (I think) cart. Search in the powersports section to his build.

Steam is an addiction. Once you hang around some live steam engines and hear them run, you may change your mind. I did... I am a full on out engine guy. Especially motorcycle engines.

Make yourself at home!

Welcome Dave,

I built this last winter, lots of fun....

If your short on money, walk away, or plan for a very long build.

First thing you should work on is one of these though...It will make your buggy build alot easier...

Take care,
Paul

Cool air guns. do you make the whole thing or did they start out as paintball guns?
