I would love to go... just a little to far for me  :bang:

Remember to take lots of pictures for us who can't go.

I might get there there; it's only 25 minutes or so from home.

A month later, there's the traction engine rally in Chelford http://www.outdoorshows.co.uk/astle-park-traction-engine-rally.html

Hi John,

I'm planning on going on Saturday (other commitments on Sunday). Not been to this one before but I thought I'd give it a try. I'm also hoping to go to Chelford in August, but I'll see what the weather is like nearer the time. I went to the Chelford rally last year for the first time in about twenty years and was surprised (and pleased) how little it had changed in that time.

Our local engineering group (WDMES (http://"http://www.wdmes.org.uk/")) have their track next to the field and run train rides for the "kiddies" during the event.
As a member I may be there on the Sunday absorbing the excess of tea and biscuits these events always generate...

iirc last year the ground was so wet that none of the traction engines could get onto the field and so the only steam to be seen was from us and the tea urn!
Looks good for this year though.

I couldn't make it, so thanks so much for the pics.

That black Lanchester HAM845 takes me back; my Dad had one from around 1951 to 1955 when he replaced it with a Jowett Javelin (I was 8 at the time). I bought the Javelin from him when I was 18 in '65, but soon replaced it with a 1947 Lea Francis Sports. There was something about our buying the products of failed manufacturers back then.

Got a Mondeo now.  :(

Rather than start a new thread I decided to reopen last years.

The Cheshire steam fair is this weekend and I'll be there again on the Sunday. :)

This time I'll be scouring the tool sales for machine tools. :dremel:

That red flatbed truck (JSU 885) looks a lot like my old 1941 Plymouth pickup truck that I owned in the mid 70's. Takes me back, too!

Thanks for the pics -- missed them first time around -- looking forward to the new ones!

I would love to be there but I will be manning the "Men In Sheds" display at the Elephant pub on Newcastle road, Shavington.  It's a classic car show and anyone who can't make Warrington, is very welcome to come and say hello.  The post code for sat navs is, CW2 5DZ.

Cheers Dek. :med:

P.S. Show is Sunday only, and for anyone interested I will have my clock on the stand. (fibre optic one as well as the hairy one).

P.P.S.  Sorry for hijacking your thread BBB. :hammer:
