Title: Youtube Vids
Post by: bogstandard on January 16, 2009, 03:00:33 AM
Here is a little something to get the members understanding what the other members are about.

But a few initial rules.

Just the link only in the post.

Nothing over say 5 minutes long (maybe a fraction more within reason).

Try to keep discussions, questions or comments to short messages, otherwise it could easily become overloaded with garbage.
If a question is asked, maybe start a new topic under the correct heading and link to this posting. That way, anyone who is interested in what they see can get a bit more info.

Post a few if you like, but not too many.

What is the subject

WHATEVER TURNS YOU ON, PROJECT WISE, not some voluptuous young lady pole dancing, or your latest head banging bit of music.

By doing this, members should be able to see who is posting, and get an idea of what the poster really likes or would like to achieve.

To start off, here is one of my favourites.

Just get the Youtube URL link and post it straight into your open reply box, click on preview and you should see that the site software has put up a little screen for you, and you can try it out.

If it looks OK, then just click on 'post'

Ralph,

Real nice project, should be fairly easy and cheap as well.

Those are all supper videos. :jaw:

I have one complaint and it's not only the vids and pictures here but any that I have ever seen. They all seem to be poorly lighted. They all look like silhouettes. The vids shown could stand a bit of front lighting to show there beauty.

John,

Please don't go saying things like that about our Ralph, he will be charging us for him to post here.

But I have to admit, having seen this one, and his others in the flesh, he does produce some remarkable and innovative work.

Well I'm not going to argue... I love it too  :)  Well making it was sure fun

John T,   Glad you like my little efforts    :dremel:

Bog's,

No charge will apply.... I've had more than my fair share of help from many on this site and in person.... I might have a big smile on my face right now, but I'm not going to change.

Happy, humble Ralph.  :)

On the contrary, it shows so many very useful mechanisms and very clearly too.... Not to mention I bet it has the power to stop kids in their tracks for hours!!!

The use of the vacuum to move the ball is an industrial process for componant handling! There is much to see..... There are a great many things about this that teach various transference of force/power options  :borg:

It is scaled down and mechanicalized with style!    (IMHO  :headbang:)

Ralph,

When you first showed me this vid a while back, it had me stopped for a while, just figuring out all the mechanisms on it, very ingenious.

Anyway, it seems like the speed freaks aren't showing what turns them on, so here are a couple of items that have had me mesmerised for a while. I always wanted to get into these things from a very early age, but the noise issue always put a curb on it, now it is too late for me, but maybe someone on here would like to have a go.

Whey hey.... Pulse jets are loud noisey and dangerous........  Just like kids!!

But I like pulse jets more, you can turn them off!   :)

There are litterally hundreds of pulse jet videos out there.... There's one with a radio controlled plane that's a good watch  :bugeye:

I might make a little one some day, 18-25" long.... Just to push a kart at a reasonable speed.... Migtht be fun?

Nice posting John, I really like the bike  :)

Three of my favorites... from the same guy

Eric, I've found a new hero!  Thank you!

His designs reflect my own thinking and, after converting to either compressed air or electric power (the Yogi factor; I trust Noelle but Yogi tends to be curious about the Wrong Things.) and scaling down to our agreed upon maximum size (USPS Priority flat rate shoebox), some of his ideas are going to be shamelessly swiped and used in the Noelle-machines.  In the meantime, I hope someone directs him here and to HMEM.  He'd be a blast to have on board.

BEst regards,

Kludge ... in total awe

Just found this guys videos and thought they should be shown..... Very cool, I love the modular build!!

Very skilled fella IMHO.

Well worth a little look around his work I think.

Anyone else got some vid's for this thread.....??

Wow, that guy has some serious talent.  The modular aspect is super cool.  All those different machines with the same lift mechanism.

He makes the wire runs look easy; I'd have been swearing a blue cloud.

Here's some more of the ball machine. He has an instructional video of making one of the runs.

I don't know if I'd wear shorts soldering though and I like how he has his side cutters on a retractable cable. Nice way to keep your tools handy and from wandering away.
