Title: clausing lathe apron

A while ago I said I was going to take the apron off because the feed screw would tighten and engage on it's own..

I was actually suprised  to see how simple it was just a taper fit but I couldn't see how to keep them separate so it wouldn't engage!

on the other end there is just a knob, washer with flats so it couldn't spin on the shaft and a nut to lock it all together. My son took it to work and polished the shaft and I decided that it needed a spring in the holes for the dowels and found some 24 mm ones at the hobby store and it works great now it's a treat to use so if anyone has this problem give it a try.
