Title: Racing Kart frame
Post by: Jadecy on January 25, 2009, 08:23:55 PM
Here are some pictures of a racing kart frame I built. It is 1-1/4" .065 chromoly and TIG welded. The tubing bender is partly purchased and partly fabricated. This was before I owned or had even used a mill or lathe.

Nice! I like to see stuff like this. What did you use to fishmouth the tubes?  What engine went in there? More info please.

Is the square tubing your jig to properly hold the tube frame?

Nice job on the welding by the way.

Yes, the square tubing is the jig. Not a great one but it worked. The fish mouth on the tubing was done with a holesaw jig and some hand grinding and test fitting. Pretty time consuming.
