Title: Opinions needed on the move to the dedicated server! Please read!

We are moving to a dedicated server. The site should be faster and I will be able to add better features... such as spell check.
The problem... we will be down for about 24hrs... so when do I make the move??

Eric Thats great news about the server and the spell checker it will help spellaphobes like myself no end, best time for the move would a period of low activity say mid week.
What type of server is it I came across this one recently is it symilar :lol:
I don't know if I'll be able to take a 24 hour down time. I'll be ready for the rubber room. :lol:
Eric, perhaps you should arrange it to coincide with Bernd's next vacation ............ don't want to cause any undue stress :hammer:

As we're a pretty international bunch and it is for a 24 hr period, go for it, no time is better than any other except for midweek as has been said. Talk to you all later......

Guys... I started moving other sites over... took about 4 to 6 hours for everything to work out. I will start tonight about 7 to 8pm est tonight. If all goes well, see ya in the morning. I will send a mass email notifying everyone when I start and when I finish. Make sure your emails are up to date

I should have opted for the weekend change over. I would have been gone for 2 days. The rubber room realy got a beating. :lol:

So..... Not knowing much,
What's the difference? (no not the difference engine Stew!)
Does it speed up, slow down or cause random cartwheels to appear on screen? ...... I just don't get it all this computing!
Still as long as everyone else is happy then I am too :)
