Title: Hi from New Forest UK
Post by: Tugwilson on February 22, 2011, 01:38:26 AM
Hi everyone,
I'm 71 enjoying my retirement and have been modelling for some time now, mostly boats and aircraft, but as an old engineer thought I would get back into the groove again, this time without the time clock card.
It's going to take me some time to go through all the info posted here so will be in the back ground for quite a while. I hope to have something worth while to say later. in the mean time thanks for having me.

regards Tug

these I think might interest people.

I turned this cannon as an experiment using a party poper inerds and a round lead fishing shot. i set it off and it went the length of my workshop and embedded it's self in the plaster, so now I only use talc powder for effect. I was afraid I'd kill someone or myself if i went on loading with lead shot. :D

Thanks for your comments gentelman. the square rigger took four years and counting to construct. I'll post more pictures once I get to know my way around here and will probably get one of the mod's to guide me.

with best regards Tug

Hello Tug
I am impressed and awed at the quality of work. The photos are great.
I was Born in the Forest but moved many years ago. my question is there a Model engineering club in the vicinity.
And do you exhibit any of your models.

Sorry for not getting back to you before this John, it’s been a bit manic in the workshop these past few weeks, have purchased a new milling machine and have been making all sorts of bits and bobs to fit it. including clamps, ‘T’ bolts collet draw bars to fit new machine as the old one was different.
I’m a bit short of space in the machine shop but will try to take a few pics later. it looks as if a bomb has gone off in there at the moment.

Hope the new project is progressing well John, will be interesting to see how things are coming along. as for coming across me on the internet not sure where but I didn’t do it what ever it was.

regards Tug
