   I can empathise with the packing being in the way part way through a job.

Another great watch, John. Only three expletives, which is pretty good considering you wanted a smoke.

How did you adjust the cutter in the boring bar between cuts, so it would gradually increase the hole diameter?

Hi John,

From time to time we all make little mistakes, but the important thing is how you resolve them, and this is a part of the learning process. In this video this is what you have shown.
                                                                                               Well Done  Cheers David

Hi
Andy
I should have shown that
I use a clock on the cutter and just push the tool  through the required amount
I need to make a proper adjuster

No, John, I should have thought it out for myself
I posted at 00.44 this morning; should have restrained myself until after a night's sleep.

Another great video, thanks John.

Did you make the boring bar - if so can you let me have the specs as it looks a good bit of kit?

Cheers

John

when you were stuck with the gland face of the cylinder, could you not have pressed a boring head into service, or at last resort do as i have done in the past when faced with the same problem hold a lathe tool in the four jaw offset to the required rad.

after all its bot the whole face that is critical but only the bolting face.

A point for others its as well to mark the gland bolting face with a couple of discrete pop marks , just so do do not forget which it is  :bang:
the drill lip gauge sure brought back memories I was introduced to those when I started work as an elect apprentice in 1962 we used the lime wash to coat the up stand ( the guys that did the setting out on the marking out slab used it to coat the work to show up the scribe marks ect. )

great vid as always John I think I have pieced up a tip with all of your previous ones

Stuart

ps looking forwards to more
