I have been looking for a certain poster which shows a guy pouring over some plans in front of a canoe that has one end up and the other down with the caption "oh s**t"
cant find it anywhere, anyone help?
while we are at it post some of your favourite ones.
-
Well this is not a poster but a sign that I have on my workshop:
(supposing I am able to post pictures...)
-
I found the canoe one:

And, it's not a workshop poster (yet!) but this made me laugh:

I kind of like this one, although I wouldn't exactly say it's a life goal:

The website for the above is the aptly named http://www.despair.com/ ...

AdeV your a star. Its not exactly the one but close enough. I searched for ages before posting here could have saved time
-
I have a copy of the cartoon with the canoe and it is labeled "Another Monday"
-
Haha.
Jiihoo, I like that one a lot. I will put one up in my shed too.
My garage carries the sign "Warning! Trespassers will be shot. Survivors will be shot again"
Thanks
Andy

Hi,
My poster is about the size of a license plate it is a Male bolt running after a female nut and the caption say " Oh no you don't not without a washer!)
My friends Dad gave it to me when I was 14years old, he was a smart man.
Cheers!

Dale,
That's a lovely high-resolution scan or photo - but could you possibly re-size it to a screen-friendly size? - unless you've got, maybe, a 50" monitor you have to keep scrolling around to see bits of it...
If it helps, there are some very helpful instructions on using one package here (http://madmodder.net/index.php?topic=4735.0) on MadModder
Thanks / Dave

right click on it and select view image :)

If MadModder is opened with Win XP and Firefox browser the right click - view image will work. At least it does for me. Thanks shipto.
If MadModder is opened with Win XP and Internet Explorer 8 the right click option will not work. At least on my computer.
It can get very frustrating trying to view some of the photos when they are that size. :D
Cheers

This one always makes me laugh.
Workshop tool and their uses;
DRILL PRESS:
A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room, denting the freshly-painted item which you had carefully set in the corner where nothing could get to it.
WIRE WHEEL:
Cleans paint off bolts and then throws them somewhere under the workbench with the speed of light . Also removes fingerprints and hard-earned cleco calluses from fingers in about the time it takes you to say, "Oh sh*t!"
ELECTRIC HAND DRILL:
Normally used for spinning pop rivets in their holes until you die of old age.
SKILL SAW:
A portable cutting tool used to make studs too short.
PLIERS:
Used to round off bolt heads. Sometimes used in the creation of blood-blisters.
BELT SANDER:
An electric sanding tool commonly used to convert minor touch-up jobs into major refinishing jobs.
HACKSAW:
One of a family of cutting tools built on the Ouija board principle. It transforms human energy into a crooked, unpredictable motion, and the more you attempt to influence its course, the more dismal your future becomes.
VISE-GRIPS:
Generally used after pliers to completely round off bolt heads. If nothing else is available, they can also be used to transfer intense welding heat to the palm of your hand.
WELDING GLOVES:
Heavy duty leather gloves used to prolong the conduction of intense welding heat to the palm of your hand.
OXYACETYLENE TORCH:
Used almost entirely for lighting various flammable objects in your shop on fire. Also handy for igniting the grease inside the wheel hub you want the bearing race out of.
TABLE SAW:
A large stationary power tool commonly used to launch wood projectiles for testing wall integrity.
HYDRAULIC FLOOR JACK:
Used for lowering an automobile to the ground after you have installed your new brake shoes, trapping the jack handle firmly under the bum per.
EIGHT-FOOT LONG YELLOW PINE 2X4:
Used for levering an automobile upward off of a trapped hydraulic jack handle.
TWEEZERS
Used for getting pine splinters out of your hands.
E-Z OUT BOLT AND STUD EXTRACTOR:
A tool ten times harder than any known drill bit that snaps neatly off in bolt holes thereby ending any possible future use.
BAND SAW:
A large stationary power saw primarily used by most shops to cut good aluminium sheet into smaller pieces that more easily fit into the trash can after you cut on the inside of the line instead of the outside edge.
TWO-TON ENGINE HOIST:
A tool for testing the maximum tensile strength of everything you forgot to disconnect.
CRAFTSMAN 1/2 x 24-INCH SCREWDRIVER:
A very large pry bar that inexplicably has an accurately machined screwdriver tip on the end opposite the handle.
AVIATION METAL SNIPS:
See hacksaw.
PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER:
Normally used to stab the vacuum seals under lids and for opening old-style paper-and-tin oil cans and splashing oil on your shirt; but can also be used, as the name implies, to strip out Phillips screw heads.
STRAIGHT SCREWDRIVER:
A tool for opening paint cans. Sometimes used to convert common slotted screws into non-removable screws.
PRY BAR:
A tool used to crumple the metal surrounding that clip or bracket you needed to remove in order to replace a 50p part.
HOSE CUTTER:
A tool used to make hoses too short.
HAMMER:
Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
MECHANIC'S KNIFE:
Used to open and slice through the contents of cardboard cartons delivered to your front door; works particularly well on contents such as seats, vinyl records, liquids in plastic bottles, collector magazines, refund checks, and rubber or plastic parts. Especially useful for slicing work clothes, but only while in use.
DAMMIT TOOL:
Any handy tool that you grab and throw across the garage while yelling "DAMMIT" at the top of your lungs. It is also, most often, the next tool that you will need.

Thanks David, it's nice to back.
A couple more then.
I have this one pinned up above the brazing bench at work. Some people really aren't sure if it's meant to be serious or not...

This one is also at work. On the front of my tool box. Most people take the hint.

That "Don`t set yourself on fire one" is great, I think I need that on the Bunsen Burner cupboard at work!

One_rod,
The advise to avoid serious injury, warning is great. Hope you have no objections if I copy, it would look just as good on my toolbox.

Sorry for hogging this thread, and it's a bit off topic this one, but still...
Had to build this small control panel for a machine I was installing at work. I have one of those little electronic label printers, and got bored doing the usual Main Motor / Hydraulics / Coolant Pump etc, etc, etc. So I did a few overprints. Just to make life a little more interesting for the new operator.

It seemed to take him a while to figure out that they just peeled off and left the proper, more boring labels underneath.

The best switch button label I've ever seen read...
Press to Test/Release to Detonate

one_rod, that's hillarious!

I thought this one just about sums up all the labels / icons warnings.
