Title: A Present form Father Christmas.
Post by: steampunkpete on December 17, 2014, 04:00:44 PM
Imagine that Father Christmas has told you that you can have one tool for your workshop, of a value of not more than £200.  :bugeye:

What will you ask him for?

Just one pressie remember, and not a farthng over £200 (or the equivalent in Pobble-Beads or whatever your local currency is).

I would ask it as a deposit on a mill   :poke:

I would probably ask for TTS quick change starter set for the CNC mill.

No! That's cheating.  :hammer:

Father Christmas does not hand out cash, Luncheon Vouchers, Nectar points, or put down deposits on your behalf, or any other non-pressie stuff.

A decent sized square that's actually square. I seem to have the worst luck buying them.

I would think about future builds and gather any tools / tooling to make the job easier.

As I seem to be the Santa figure around here (grey beard, pot belly and all), I decided to buy my own present.  PMR #7BI, delivered yesterday.

I'm voting for Bob as the smartest of the lot!

but okay, asking from Santa uh, not for a lump of coal this year............ please, the bin is full....... maybe just have the elves clean up my Atlas shaper, replace the missing parts, and get it running, so when I walk into the shop I see it all complete and ready to go.

Oh wait and please make the Atlas shaper vise magically appear there, too!

Bob posted well a blonde will do. Bob, I've led a largely untroubled life, but such troubles as there have been were all small, shapely and blonde. And they all without exception cost a deal more than two hundred quid.

I've asked Santa for a Potts type saw table from Hemingway; White Van Man came yesterday with something quite heavy that I'm not allowed to look at, so I think we're OK.

I'm with Eugene on this - a blonde will get through a lot more than £200 in a short time, leave you with lots of expectations and little actually delivered - anyway not good for your heart Bob

A thread counter for my Denford lathe. The only accessory that was missing when I bought it.

Dave.

Just like some of the rubbish sold on the bay, it will look all nice and blonde/ shiny on top but will not always be what it seems underneath. You don't always get to see the quality report/ collar and cuffs before purchase either

Well, I'd better not let the wife see this.... (she's not small (5'10"), but shapely and blond... From Finland!)

Kjelle (Happy with his blonde)

Nobody has asked me what I wanted (sniff, tremble bottom lip  :().

I left out a list for Santa a couple of months ago to give him time to make something for me. I left it pinned to the mantlepiece.

I want a couple of linear digital scales so that I can modify my mini lathe. I will then be able to easily see where the cross-slide is and not where the handle is. That leaves plenty of change for a bigger birthday pressie from Santa, who, as a concession, also deals with my birthday because it falls very close to Christmas.

My wife said that she would liaise with Santa, but I had to show her where that nice Mr. Chronos' shop is so that she could tell Santa how to get there (that's what she told me). After I showed her where it was, she had to go back inside to get her umbrella while I waited in the car. She is a scatter-brain 'cos it wasn't even raining!

What I'd REALLY like for Christmas is more time and energy to get all those various projects wrapped up and finished

I'm with you Andrew!

Whenever I'm asked, the stock reply is. "I already have all I want. Though, a bag of spare time, would be wonderful"..........  :)
