We are currently making a 1 1/2 inch scale cab forward Pacific ,this is the Baker valve gear that we are fitting, Spent the day fitting the Cross heads/shoes to the slide bars. We found that it is important to get a free fitting slide with no binding with the pistons attached w/o compression rings.

Thanx Stew, I work with two other fellows, The older one (71 ,Howie) has been making steam trains for 20+ yrs and is showing us the ropes, I CAd and CNC mill parts, the other guy a bit younger ( 25 , Justin ) than me does the manual machining and runs teh CNC lathe, its 7 1/2, we are also doin a 7 1/4 it will be a Hudson I think tho.

Got a bit more done on the Pacific with the Baker gear... front trucks done, springs almost all hooked up, have the breaks done but not in pics... boiler caridge is also done, working on Trailing truck next... other work in the shop keeping us away from the trains, Safety BC is holding us up with Boiler regs, were have all the parts mostly machined waiting on the paperwork from the government, We are waiting on wheel castings stuck these on for now. Been a bit busy have not been on here for a long time.. try and get a few more pics up.... soon.
