Howdy,
Just wanted to say you have a heap of great folks and info here, had to join up. (Hopefully being a member will help me upgrade from my SwarfMaster2000 lathe.)
Cheers,
Wink

Welcome to MadModder Wink. I am sure that there are people on here that can help you with most any lathe or mill problem that you encounter. Don't be scared to ask questions as there is always someone around to answer or at least give an opinion. As you get the time perhaps you can show us some photos of your shop and some projects that you are working on. The guys on here are a great bunch and love to help new members get started. :D :D
Cheers

Hey Guys,
thanks for the warm welcome.
I've got a 7x14 mini lathe, about a year+ now, and have made plenty of chips just playing in aluminium. I'm trying to get a good feel for using the cutters, even ground a few but I don't know enough about the finished tool. I'm also interested in making my lathe a better machine. I love the idea of a quick change tool post and anything that increases accuracy and use. I hope to one day convert it to a sometimes-CNC, but that's a ways off! :zap: as is a mini miling machine...(wives, they do come from their own planet, not seeing the need for such things!)
The radius turner/ball cutter is awesomely clever and cool, I hope that building one of those will not only give me a useful tool, but teach me much along the way! :smart: :bang:
I'm mostly using my equipment to make masters for resin casting (various scale models) as well as parts. I made a 1:72 scale 55-gal drum on the lathe, for resin casting. It was harder than it should have been!
Anyway, thanks again, hopefully I can contribute.
Cheers,
Wink

Very cool. Start a thread in the gallery and show us some pictures of the resin casting!
