Early Edgwicks had the clutch lever top-LHS of the headstock (you can see the end of the shaft on your headstock); on later ones they moved it to the bottom RHS (a much more sensible location) using levers & bosses on the back of the lathe.
I believe the gear selectors are actually the same inside; just with a different style boss.

Oil for headstock gearbox someone has suggested using Shell Tellus which is Hydraulic oil. I would of thought there was a proper oil perhaps a diff oil or gearbox oil would be better
